Contigo has successfully implemented its cloud-hosted enTrader® ETRM solution, after it was chosen to support a division of Eniig, part of Denmark’s largest energy and communications group, Norlys.
It is the fifth company in the Nordic region to select Contigo to provide energy trading software.
Following the purchase of a large customer portfolio, Eniig had a requirement to achieve the fast implementation of a new ETRM system that could effectively manage gas trading. Contigo’s enTrader was identified as the best solution, and the system implementation was undertaken to schedule, in 14 weeks.
Camilla Ejstrup Frøkjær, portfolio and project manager, comments:
“Our legacy ETRM system did not handle gas particularly well, and so we decided to select a new ETRM system that would make it easier to manage the market risk.
“It was important for us that the system was simple to use and that it would be quick to implement, as we needed it to be operating in a matter of a few months, rather than years. We particularly liked the cloud hosted option for enTrader, which increased the simplicity and convenience for us.
“It meant that we could get the system operating without having to use the resources of our own IT department, and when the system is upgraded, Contigo simply pushes it out overnight and it’s done.
“The Contigo enTrader system is flexible and the Contigo team help to ensure that we do things in the smartest and simplest way.
“One feature that we find particularly useful is the Dynamic Position Screen. It gives us a total overview of our positions and our related market risk. Without this feature, we would have to export the data to excel, but it is much easier having all the information on one screen within the system.
“We also really liked that it was so easy to make the API connection over to our nominations system, eZ-nergy, and also to Trayport Joule, which means that all the trades that we do on the exchange are automatically deal captured in enTrader and then nominated to eZ-nergy, so minimising risk.”

Contigo Chief Executive Officer, Simon Wheeler, adds: “The Contigo team worked closely with Eniig and we are delighted that the system and its implementation have met their requirements, and that they are finding our new Dynamic Position Screen feature useful.
“More businesses are choosing the cloud-hosted option of our enTrader ETRM solution. Our Software as a Service (SaaS) solution means we host and manage the service for clients, automatically applying updates to the software, so that users are able to stay up to date with industry changes, security updates and performance requirements, and can achieve greater agility and future-proofing.”
