Energy One UK is delighted to announce it has raised over £350 for the University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) Charity after hosting a staff tea party.
Energy One is supporting UHB Charity with a series of activities to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Children’s Outpatients department at Solihull Hospital.
The team kick-started its fundraising campaign by donating money in exchange for enjoying coffees, cakes, teas and treats, either from home or in the office. Together they have raised a fantastic £354 to-date for UHB Charity, which is the official charity of University Hospitals Birmingham.
Energy One Europe CEO, Simon Wheeler, comments: “We are really proud to have raised such a significant amount of money for UHB Charity – specifically for the refurbishment the Children’s Outpatients department at Solihull Hospital, which is next door to our office.
“The team had a great time tucking in for the cause at our birthday celebrations. The turnout was impressive and everyone was incredibly generous with their donations. The event revealed a few surprisingly good bakers too! It bought the team together, and while many of our staff are continuing to work from home, they were able to join in virtually, which was fantastic. We’re all looking forward to the next event!”
Team members at Energy One UK are planning more fundraising activities for the charity throughout the year to boost the donation total.
As part of its wider support for UHB Charity, Energy One UK recently donated a large supply of lollipops to the cancer centre at Solihull Hospital to help chemotherapy patients during treatment.
UHB Charity is an umbrella charity made up of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity. It works across its sites to support patients, families and staff by providing ‘added extras’ that are over and above those provided by the NHS.
